UNC’s new basketball team plans its first two official visits

Less than two weeks later Receiving a long-awaited offer Western Reserve Academy (Ohio) forward Niko Bundalo is making moves in his recruitment. He hasn’t named finalists yet, but the 6-foot-11, 195-pound phenom is considering visits later this summer.

However, so far, the plans he has in mind do not include the Tar heels.

Bundalo, a four-year prospect ranked No. 24 overall in the 247Sports 2025 Composite as a newly minted five-star, will take an official visit to reigning back-to-back national champion UConn beginning Aug. 30 before heading to longtime pursuer Michigan State the following weekend. Top High School Recruits reported Monday afternoon.

In the span of a few weeks beginning in late May, the high school senior reported receiving offers from UConn, fellow Kentucky, Ole Miss, Michigan and UNC, bringing his total number of full-fledged suitors to nearly three dozen.

Although Niko Bundalo personally withdrew from a handful of shows last year, all of those trips were unofficial visits, by On3. Thus, Dan Hurley’s Huskies and Tom Izzo’s Spartans are the first to get official visits from the coveted talent.

He is one of 17 in his class to have landed on UNC’s basketball offer list, and the number of five-star forwards on that wish list is approaching double digits.
