Alan Shearer does see something in the Chelsea player

while speaking in The rest is footballShearer gave an interesting verdict on Chelsea Mykhailo Mudryk.

He thinks the Blues attacker, who earns £100,000 a week (Observer) has a special quality to his game that is difficult for him to unlock.

Shearer said: “There’s something in there. I think it has been very difficult for him at Chelsea. I look at it and I think there’s something there. This requires a lot of work.”

Gary Lineker responded: “Yes, I agree with that.”

Micah Richards then added: “Yeah, okay. It definitely has something. He needs a coach who believes in him and he needs a run of games, even if he has three or four bad ones, to be able to build that confidence. The extremes are like that, right? “They need that confidence to really move forward.”

Mykhailo Mudryk hasn’t been good enough so far

The truth is that Mudryk has been hugely disappointed during his first 18 months as a Chelsea player.

However, it’s good to know that some still have confidence in the 23-year-old’s ability.

He has scored just seven goals and provided four assists in 58 appearances for Chelsea to date. Considering his transfer is worth up to £89 million (bbc), that return is very alarming.

Mudryk is a left winger with blistering pace and many fantastic physical attributes that indicate he can be a top-class player. There have also been flashes of star quality from him in Chelsea colours.

However, he will simply have to start finding consistency next season, both in his final product and his decision-making.
