Tyus Jones is the most coveted free agent for the Washington Wizards this July. It should come as no surprise that he will be leaving the team in a few days. But it should also not be surprising if the Wizards are left with “nothing.”
According Michael Scotto of HoopsHypeThe Wizards are open to a sign-and-trade scenario involving Jones. It’s unclear which team(s) are interested in signing, but technically acquiring Jones in a deal, as there aren’t many reports on X saying front offices are calling Jones.
I’m not surprised because Jones isn’t one of the “A-list” free agents like Paul George and Chris Paul, who were the most sought-after players last night. But Jones is still one of the top free agents this year, so there should be no doubt that he and his agent(s) are in contact with teams as of 6 p.m. last night.
