Tottenham and Roma are reportedly after 24-year-old Brahim Diaz, but Real Madrid, as well as Ancelotti himself, have “categorically rejected” the proposals.
Spurs appear to be looking for another signing for the attacking midfield in an attempt to replace and improve Giovanni Lo Celso who according to Sports stadium is ‘willing to return’ to Real Betis with his days in Tottenham looking numbered
By James Maddison The poor end to the season has likely only emphasised the need for Tottenham to have adequate competition for the Englishman ahead of next season, with Eze being one of the strongest links. The times)
However, new updates emerging from Spain suggest that Spurs are also looking at the possibility of introducing some trophy-winning pedigree into the squad by signing Champions League winner Brahim Diaz.
Spurs ‘test the temperature’ of Brahim Diaz
Brahim Diaz has enjoyed his first season back in the Spanish capital with Real Madrid since 2019/20 following an unorthodox loan to AC Milan, scoring twelve goals in all competitions while also registering the same number of assists.TransferMarkt)
The 24-year-old’s impressive stats, according to Jumble saleHe has attracted the interest of ‘several clubs’, although the player, like his club, ‘feels very good in Madrid’ and wants to continue playing with the famous Real Madrid shirt next season.
Spurs, like Roma, are believed to have received a “categorical rejection” when they enquired about signing Diaz and it appears “an offer that cannot be refused” is required for the Spanish champions to consider selling the Moroccan international.
Spurs review on the web
Personally, I’d be inclined to pursue Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze ahead of any other name who has been linked with Tottenham, even Brahim Diaz, whose eye for goal and technical ability are evident.
Although he now appears to be receiving an “irrefusable” offer to force Madrid’s hand, it is likely that a deal for Diaz simply isn’t value for money.
