Real Madrid beat Dortmund to win their 15th UCL title, hailed by fans as “inevitable”

Real Madrid is really inevitable.

Despite struggling for much of the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid recovered late to win 2-0.

Dani Carvajal scored a header in the 71st minute after a corner kick from Toni Kroos to score the winning goal.

Real Madrid scored 12 minutes later, after Dortmund left back Ian Maatsen delivered the ball directly to Jude Bellingham, who found Vinícius Júnior to score.

Dortmund dominated the entire first half, but had nothing to show:

Dortmund took eight shots (three on goal), while Real Madrid took two shots (none on goal). In fact, Real Madrid did not make any shot attempts in the first half after the 15th minute.

Dortmund even finished the match with more expected goals despite the tough second half:

But none of that mattered, as Real Madrid, the pre-match favorite, rallied in the second half to take the win.

Naturally, fans and analysts alike were impressed with the effort.

Real Madrid has won 15 Champions League titles, including six since 2014.
