State of Oklahoma star runner Ollie Gordon II He was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed to ESPN.
According to the probable cause affidavit, officers stopped Gordon in the Oklahoma City area after he swerved his car into the adjacent lane twice and was caught driving 17 miles per hour over the 65 speed limit.
During the stop, a deputy detected the odor of alcohol in the vehicle. Gordon admitted to having an open bottle of vodka and an open bottle of tequila, which the affidavit said were half empty. Gordon initially refused to submit to a sobriety test. He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, transporting an open container of alcohol, failure to comply with a single lane traffic order and speeding. At the Cleveland County Jail, Gordon registered a blood alcohol level of .11 and .10.
The legal blood alcohol content limit for driving in Oklahoma is 0.08%.
Last season, Gordon won the Doak Walker Award, given to the best running back in college football. He led the nation with 1,732 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.
An Oklahoma State spokesman said the school was “aware” of the incident.
