Oklahoma State star running back Ollie Gordon II was arrested Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence and speeding.
Authorities said Gordon, 20, was stopped on Interstate 35 near Moore, Oklahoma, after traveling 82 mph and swerving in and out of traffic lanes.
An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper detected “an odor associated with an alcoholic beverage” coming from the vehicle, according to the incident report. Police also found two bottles of liquor in the vehicle.
Gordon was taken to the Cleveland County Jail after a breath test revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.11, above the legal limit for an adult under 21, and he also failed a second test while in custody with a BAC of 0.10.
An Oklahoma State spokesperson told reporters the university is aware of the situation but had no further comment.
Gordon was the 2023 Doak Walker Award winner as the nation’s top running back. The All-American was also named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and finished seventh in Heisman Trophy voting after rushing for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns in 14 games.
