Nebraska Football: Huskers bring the hammer with new 2025 offensive lineman Matt Rhule News Shawn Hammerbeck

Matt Rhule and company bring the hammer with new commitment Shawn Hammerbeck from South Dakota.

Hammerbeck is 6’4″ and 250 pounds and can seemingly play on the offensive or defensive line, but it looks like he’ll join Donovan Raiola’s group as an offensive lineman. He actually played tight end in high school, but it looks like he’s ready to protect the blind side of a future Nebraska quarterback.

Hammerbeck is the No. 1 player in South Dakota and is currently a three-star prospect who could move up to four-star.

The other schools that chose Nebraska were Texas Tech, Kansas State and Minnesota.

He would be considered the 15th commitment in the 2025 class, which might not number more than 20 in terms of class size. He is the third offensive line prospect in the class along with Brian Tapu (Utah) and Houston Kaahaaina-Torres (Hawaii).

Oh, and he’s from Winner, South Dakota. That’s got to mean something.
