JuJu Watkins invaded the Sparks Game, showing his star power

USC women’s basketball’s JuJu Watkins’ star power continues to reach new heights. Watkins recently attended a Los Angeles Sparks basketball game where she was packed with fans. They took out her phone and turned the camera towards them to take a selfie with Watkins, while a couple of girls went to hug Watkins. Watkins smiled for photos with the group of fans around her, while people in the crowd shouted “Hey Ju!” and “Whoa!”

His stardom became evident as his first season progressed, as it was impossible not to pay attention to his constant records, awards, and 30-point games. Her play forces other teams to plan around her and she has been yelled at by stars like Jay-Z and LeBron James.

This only grew during the NCAA Tournament, when Watkins captured national attention and led USC to the NCAA Elite Eight. During USC’s playoff run, Watkins recorded two double-double games and at least 23 points in all four games. She set the NCAA freshman scoring record, breaking the record that had been set nearly four decades earlier and becoming the first NCAA freshman to score 900 points in the season.

This also appears to be just the beginning, as Watkins has three more years of college to grow as one of the faces of women’s college basketball and college basketball in general. She’s already received advice from the former Iowa basketball star and current Indiana Fever rookie point guard Caitlin Clarkwho has dealt with a ton of fans, media, and attention herself over the past few years.
