Red Devils legend Eric Cantona has been left in awe by an iconic game in the illustrious managerial career of former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Archie Knox was Ferguson’s assistant coach at Aberdeen and followed the Scot to Old Trafford to take up the same role at United.
The former United assistant recalled that Ferguson was convinced they could beat Madrid when he was in charge of Aberdeen.
“They beat Alex up,” he said, according to The Press and the Newspaper in 2023.
“No victory came naturally and you had to do all the basics of the game and do them well to win.
“It was the same when we played against Real Madrid earlier that year. There was confidence, but he never took anything for granted.
“Alex told me that he had seen Madrid and that he felt that we had a great chance of beating them, but then he warned me not to tell any of the players.
“That was how I approached everything.”
