College Football 25: EA Sports shares new details on Dynasty mode

With College Football 25 just over two weeks away from its release, EA Sports has finally shared details on the fan-favorite Dynasty Mode, detailing all of the tools players can access in their quest to build a college football dynasty.

In the new in-depth look at the game, EA Sports revealed that College Football 25’s Dynasty mode will let you start out as a head coach, or you can have more humble beginnings and start as a coordinator and work your way up. What’s more interesting is that there are different skill trees split into three main pillars, which you can read a little more about below:

  • Motivator: A coach who can motivate his players to play their best.
  • Recruiter: Someone who is good at recruiting the best players from each year’s recruiting class.
  • Tactical: Expert at increasing player ratings on game day by crafting plays that can help win big games.

EA Sports notes that every choice and decision you make will impact Dynasty Mode beyond simply recruiting the best players possible, as how you build your staff will impact how your program performs. To add immersion to the game, EA Sports revealed that players who opt to become head coaches will be able to manage their staff during Conference Championship Week, allowing them the option to fire their coordinators within that one-week period with the ability to hire new coordinators during the first week of Bowl Games, assuming you have a spot available.

Lots to customize

Much like Road to Glory, College Football 25’s Dynasty mode will also feature name, image and likeness (NIL) deals, and the transfer portal will be a key tool for recruiting purposes, as you’ll be able to source high school talent and current student-athletes looking to head to another school. Other cool details include Dynasty mode, which gives players the option to convince kids to stay at your school if they decide to enter the transfer portal or declare for the NFL draft.

When recruiting players, each will have different desires and goals that they wish to achieve at the school they plan to attend. Recruits may be concerned about things like playing time, the likelihood of winning championships, building their brand to earn more NIL contracts, staying close to home, coaching stability, and academic prowess, to name just a few.

The most interesting thing coming to College Football 25’s Dynasty mode, however, is the ability to realign football conferences. Each conference is set up with the 2024 realignment (e.g., Texas and Oklahoma are headed to the SEC and Colorado is headed to the Big 12). However, players can customize conferences. For example, you could add the University of Maryland back to the ACC or revive the PAC-12.

College Football 25 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on July 19 or July 16 for those who purchase the Deluxe Edition.
